Comedian Greg Giraldo Dies...
Comedian and friend of the show, Greg Giraldo, has passed away...
Greg was hospitalized over the weekend after he accidentally overdosed on prescription meds.
He was last on EITM when he appeared in-studio with Elliot and the Class on September 17th, 2009.
I managed to track down the audio. Enjoy the three-part interview below...
Rest In Peace, Greg.

It took almost three years for this to happen...
Nope, you're not seeing things...that's actually Kyle in his very first (and last) tease!
Up until now, every other member of the Class has had their own tease, except for Kyle...
Unfortunately, they waited until his last day on EITM to do it...
Love the California themed backdrop! And is it just me, or is Kyle extremely photogenic?
Anyway...back to it...on Monday, Dr. Oz will be on the show.
London Fletcher from the Washington Redskins will also check in for his weekly call.

Kyle's Last Day on Elliot In The Morning!
After eight years with the show, today will be Kyle's last day on Elliot In The Morning...
Elliot made the announcement last week, that Kyle would be leaving the show and moving out to California with his fiancé, Page.
Kyle's replacement, Kayleigh, has been answering phones all week in preparation for Kyle's departure from the show. She will now become a full-time member of the Class.
Kyle posted a picture of an empty box on his desk at work, saying "I'll miss you desk."
Make sure you tune in Friday for the big send off and to find out if anyone cries!
Good luck in California, Kyle! We will miss you!!!

Another one bites the dust over at Clear Channel, this time in Richmond...
Fresh back from vacation, afternoon guy, Crash Young, was handed his walking papers on Monday.
Elliot made mention of it on Tuesday's show...
Crash now joins the ranks of other recently fired Clear Channel employees, Dave Wellington and Jon Ballard. *Cue Monkey Wrench*

Video of Elliot at Z100 in the 90s
I recently stumbled upon this piece of Elliot nostalgia from his Z100 days...
Filmed sometime in 1998 or 1999, an intern at Z100 in New York City interviewed a much younger, Elliot Segal, who was a producer and a part of Elvis and Elliot and the Z Morning Zoo.
Elliot pops up around the 1:19 mark. Enjoy!
He Died, You Win: Rich Cronin
Elliot played He Died, You Win for Rich Cronin, the lead singer and founder of the late-1990s pop trio LFO, who passed away after a long battle with leukemia. He was 35.
Interesting enough, while working at Z100 in New York City, Elliot played a hand in promoting LFO's popularity through promotion and airings of the song, "Summer Girls" before it hit big.
In case you missed He Died, You Win, here's how it went...
1.) In LFO's biggest hit...they liked girls who wore clothes from this famous clothing store? ANSWER: Abercrombie & Fitch
2.) As written in Tyler Gray's book about Lou Pearlman, what DJ, now working in Washington, DC, was credited with breaking LFO while he was working in New York? ANSWER: Elliot Segal
On page 165 in "The Hit Charade," Tyler Gray actually writes: "A DJ at the massively popular Z100 pop music station in New York, started spinning an older LFO song, 'Summer Girls,' which got the attention of labels and for a brief stretch inspired Lou Pearlman to work his magic with LFO."
2.) This famous Boston-based boy band featured Joey, Jordan, Jonathan, Donnie, and Danny, who looked like a gorilla. ANSWER: New Kids On The Block
4.) This famous Philly-based boy band gave us "Motown Philly," "It's So Hard To Say Good-Bye Yesterday," and "I'll Make Love To You" while always dressing the same. ANSWER: Boyz II Men
5.) This famous boy band featured the Lachey brothers...one was married to Jessica Simpson and the other was a "Dancing With The Stars" champion. ANSWER: 98 Degrees
6.) This famous Orlando-based boy band gave us "I Want It That Way" and featured drug addict AJ McLean and Brian Littrell, who had a hole in his heart. ANSWER: Backstreet Boys
7.) This Boston-based boy band is credited with starting the boy band phenomenon and giving us Bobby Brown. ANSWER: New Edition
8.) This British boy band was famous for their song "Back For Good" and featured Robbie Williams, who is in Tyler’s gay 3-some. ANSWER: Take That
9.) This Florida-based boy band was perhaps the biggest of them all, consisting of Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone, Lance Bass, JC Chasez and Justin Timberlake. ANSWER: *NSYNC
R.I.P. Rich Cronin...
Happy Birthday, Diane!
Diane is one of the many American's who unfortunately celebrate their birthday on September 11th...
While this day will never be forgotten, let's also take some time to wish Momma a Happy Birthday.
Also, Happy Birthday to Flounder's Mother, Sue!

Kyle Benham To Leave EITM!
Over the past few weeks, some of you may have picked up on hints that Kyle would be leaving the show...all of which completely went over my head.
Like most of you, I was shocked to hear Elliot's Thursday morning announcement that after eight years, Kyle will be leaving Elliot in the Morning.
"Next Friday, Kyle is leaving and heading out to Orange County [California] just south of LA with fiancé, Page," Elliot said.
"I've done this everyday for eight years," Kyle said, noting that he has grown up on the show.
A commenter on Facebook asks, "Who's going to sing 'Christmas Shoes' with Tyler after Kyle leaves?"
Wasting no time, Elliot introduced Kyle's replacement, a 22-year-old girl named Kayleigh (a.k.a. New Kyle). She will take over, full time, when Kyle leaves next Friday.
Here's audio of Elliot's announcement:
Update:
Join Kyle at the Sony Style Store in Tyson’s Corner Center this Saturday from Noon to 2pm, for his last appearance with DC101. Click here for details.

Elliot Talks 'Babysitter' Firing!
Elliot and the Class returned to the airwaves Tuesday morning after Labor Day weekend. I expected Elliot to delve right into the Friday firing of DC101 Program Director, Dave "The Babysitter" Wellington, however, he waited nearly three hours in to the show to make the announcement...
"We got some good news on Friday - you know what, I shouldn't editorialize, we got some news on Friday."
"Our program director has been fired. Actually, you know what, it was an amicable parting. Let me take that back...I shouldn't say fired...It was an amicable and mutual separation," Elliot said.
Flounder and Diane pointed out that this was now the sixth DC101 Program Director in eleven years.
In case you were wondering, here is the list, in the order that they left: Bob Neumann, Buddy Rizer, Joe Bevilacqua, Rick Schmidt, Cruze, and now, Dave Wellington. No word on who will be number seven.

Ding Dong, 'The Babysitter' Is Gone!
*Breaking News sounder*
Dave Wellington has been relieved of his Program Director duties at DC101!
All Access reports that Wellington amicably decided to part ways after two years with Clear Channel/Washington-Baltimore.
"I've thoroughly enjoyed the last two years programming JACK FM and DC101. I'd like to thank Tom Schurr, Clay Hunicutt, Hartley Adkins, Thea Mitchem...and Booger...for allowing me the wonderful opportunity to steer two great properties," he said. Hmm...no love for Elliot?
"Currently, I'm looking at all opportunities, both within Clear Channel and at other broadcasting companies." He then offers up his phone number and email, which he can keep to himself.
He makes it sound like he made the decision, but I heard that he was actually fired. Either way, he's gone!
Don't let the door hit you too hard Dave...
Okay, soo when should I start the "Bring Back Joe Bevilacqua" campaign?

Elliot Returns After Getting Yanked! (AUDIO)
Elliot returned to the airwaves Tuesday after he was yanked off the air Monday morning by management in the middle of his show. In case you miissed it, here is Elliot's explanation about the whole ordeal...
Elliot said that there is a room down the hall where they (Mike Jones) listen to everything that goes on and if something "bad" is said, they can get rid of it and kill the board in Elliot's studio...
"One person told another person to run down the hall and tell another person to go running into the other control room and kill my board," Elliot said.
Once that happened, the show was done and Elliot decided to leave 40-minutes later. He was getting on 270 when he got a phone call to come back in for a meeting.
In the meeting, they told Elliot that he was inconsiderate, disrespectful, and that talking to Ballard on the air could have been a volatile situation.
Elliot said they were pissed off because their "business plan" for the rest of the staff and the advertising community got messed up.
"So whatever it was yesterday, everybody overreacted and got pissy, and that was it," Elliot said. "If this contest wasn't going on, I would be long gone, or at least getting a couple days vacation."
Thoughts?
