Doug McKelway Speaks...Sort Of

This morning Elliot tracked down Channel 7/WJLA and NewsChannel 8 anchor/reporter Doug McKelway, who (according to DCRTV) was allegedly "fired on Friday after a showdown with Station Manager Bill Lord over on-air comments about the BP oil spill's impact on US energy policy legislation."

In the brief three minute conversation, McKelway didn't go into details, but made it clear that he has a "great lawyer" and intends to speak about everything in the future. He did, however, note that if he were to return, "it would be with some stipulations." Listen to the entire interview below.

Diane Wedding Prank...It's Thursday!

This morning Elliot played the infamous clip of Diane getting pranked by John Lander just days before her wedding in 2001. It's Thursday! The laughter at the end of the clip is actually Flounder, not Elliot.

This is the type of stuff that should be played during Best Of. Hi Kyle!

Kyle Got Engaged!

Kyle returned from vacation an engaged man! He and longtime gal pal Page Collins are tying the night...



Kyle popped the question on the rooftop terrace at Charlie Palmer Steak in Washington, DC on July 10th. He said he asked her parents for permission about a month and a half before he proposed. There's no word yet on a date, but I will keep you posted. Listen to Kyle talk about his engagement with the Class below:

No, Elliot wasn't suspended again! EITM will return live on Monday after a week off for vacation.

Expect a massive EITM promotional announcement on Monday, plus two more promotions later in the week.

Getting Some Things Off My Chest...

I have bit my tongue about EITM many times over the years...

The fact that they have an incompetent management team who has dropped the ball on more than one occasion hasn't helped...

The fact that Elliot makes it down to Richmond for promotions once every 6 months is embarrassing...

The fact that downloadable audio of interviews was axed in favor of YouTube videos is nerve-racking.

The fact that 'Best Of' is a compilation of forgettable conversations and interviews from 3 months ago is ridiculous. Surely, there's more there...the show has been on for TEN YEARS!

The fact that I've been doing this fan blog for two and a half years and haven't received once ounce of acknowledgment of its mere existence...other than Diane asking me to remove a link to her Facebook profile...is hurtful.

And now, to top it all off, EITMonline.com has been reduced to a pointless Facebook/Twitter/YouTube feed...which comes off as downright lazy!

With all of that being said, I am still an EITM fan and plan to keep my blog going as long as I can, just wanted to get some things off my chest. Thanks for your support and I'll see you on the other side of 5:48 a.m.

Tom Sater Headed to Channel 9!

Great news for former FOX 5 weatherman Tom Sater...he's headed back to television!



According to DCRTV, Tom will do the weather on WUSA Channel 9 this weekend, at 6:30 PM and 11 PM. He will also do freelance forecasts on the weekends during the summer.

Two years ago, we told you about Tom's odd career choice as an assistant manager at Tractor Supply Company in Warrenton, VA. Several EITM listeners discussed it with Elliot on the air.

Shortly after that, Tom and Fox 5 morning news anchor Gurvir Dhindsa welcomed twins. Many of you have had a lot to say about the drama between Tom, Gurvir, and Tom's ex-wife, Fox 5's Holly Morris.

We're glad to hear Tom will be using his meteorological skills once again. Congrats!
