Rock The 'Hawk "Round 2" Friday!

The Washington Capitals have advanced to the 2nd round of the 2009 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Thus, Rock The 'Hawk continues...



That's right! Mike Green and Elliot are teaming up once again for Rock The 'Hawk "Round 2" which takes place Friday morning...

Here are all the Rock The 'Hawk 2009 details:

- You must be at DC101 in Rockville, Maryland by 5am
- Arriving before 5am DOES NOT increase your chances
- You will fill out an official registration card
- Wait for your name to be called at 6am
- Participants will be chosen by random drawing
- You will receive a Mohawk
- You will receive ONLY 1 ticket to the Caps playoff game
- You will receive a Rock The 'Hawk 2009 t-shirt
- You MUST be 21+ to participate

Before the game, show up at R.F.D across from the Verizon Center from 11:00-12:30 (before the game) with a Mohawk and register for your last chance to to win Caps Playoff tickets. Click here for details.

Elvis Duran Headed To Richmond!

Before coming to DC101 in 1999, Elliot was one-half of the Elvis and Elliot and the Z Morning Zoo on Z100 in New York City.

Ten years later, Elvis Duran has his own show in NYC and will now be heard on Richmond's "Q94" starting Monday, May 4th. Dirt Woman, who do they hate?

Melissa & Sid was scratched during today's cuts, so Melissa Chase (who has done voice work for Flounder's MashUps) is moving to afternoons, while Elvis Duran and The Morning Show will be heard from 6-10am, going up against Elliot In The Morning in Richmond.

This move will mark Duran's sixth station, along with New York, Philadelphia, Miami, Cleveland, and Dayton. And yes, this means that Elliot's friend "Gay Greg" will be heard in Richmond as well!

Shock Gone From DC101!

Thankfully, Elliot and The Class managed to survive another round of cuts as today as Clear Channel eliminated 590 positions...

One of those let go in DC was commercial production guy, Rick "Shock" Shockey.

It's no secret that Shock and Flounder never got along, especially since Flounder and Whitney threw his coffee pot off the 5th floor balcony back in November 2008. [VIDEO]

Also, part-time engineer Ed Cole was given his pink slip. You'll recall, Ed was the guy who expensed everything from his trip to Dubai with Elliot. Can't wait to hear the show Wednesday morning!

No EITM Easter Keg Hunt This Year!

Tomorrow is just a Good Friday and not a Great Friday...

For years, the Easter Keg Hunt has become a tradition for EITM fans in and around DC and Richmond. Sadly, Baltimore had to come along and fuck everything up for the rest of us...

Well, Elliot didn't exactly phrase it that way, but you know we're all thinking it! In order for the event to happen, Elliot wanted all three areas to be included. This would have been Baltimore's first year in the hunt since joining the network back in May 2008 with Channel 104.3.

"They weren't able to get that done," Elliot said. It seems the sales staffs had contacts in DC and Richmond, but had zero affiliation with Baltimore. "Which sucks, because that means I won't have company waiting for me outside of my house when I wake up in the morning," Elliot joked.

So farewell to inappropriate team names, to getting up at 2am to hide Easter Kegs, to searching for Easter Kegs, to the Easter Keg Redemption Party and most of all...to the Golden Easter Keg.



Team DC Sportbikes responds in an email to EITMfans:

I know you've mentioned us once or twice in previous posts, and no doubt have heard about the cancellation of this years Keg Hunt. Just know that Team DC Sportbikes is deeply saddened by the turn of events. We were more prepared than ever before, and even the EITM class knows how involved we are. When they were talking about the cancellation this morning, Elliot said he's most sad he wont be waking up to strangers outside his house, in which Diane replied with "I know team DC Sportbikes is pissed". Look for us next year, and in bigger numbers!

Everyone is obviously bummed, but look on the bright side...Elliot has vowed to have the Easter Keg Hunt next year, come hell or high water!

Hefty Charge For Cook-Off Tickets!

Anyone who has bought tickets from Ticketmaster knows that there is always that pesky service charge added to your ticket price...

So when DC101 Chili Cook-Off tickets went on sale last Friday for $35, no one expected that they would be paying $11.95 for a "Convenience Charge" per ticket.

Elliot said he got into it with management about the misconception that buying tickets before the event is a savings...

So just to recap, if you buy your DC101 Chili Cook-Off tickets online from Ticketmaster expect to pay: $35 per ticket, plus a $11.95 Convenience Charge. Which brings your total to...

A whopping $46.95 per ticket! That's not including any additional taxes and optional shipping charges. In some cases it seems like paying $50 at the gate the day of would actually be cheaper!

Okay, so "I" don't know what band sings Diane's most hated song, but Kyle does!

During a discussion about Saturday's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction, a caller asked Diane if the band that sings her most hated song was in the Hall of Fame...

To refresh your memory, Diane has this one song that she just can't stand, so much so, she's kept it a secret for nearly ten years. Why so long? Because Elliot and Tyler would torture her with it every day. Knowing Elliot, he would find the instrumental and make it the new "Diane's Dirt" theme music...

So when Diane was unsure of the answer she made the grave mistake of looking it up on her computer. Even though she turned her monitor away, Kyle still managed to catch a glimpse. How rude!

Elliot: Kyle...Come on, Don't! Don't! (Laughing)

Diane: Oh, you dick! Did you just see?

Kyle: I know what band it is!
