Ben Kweller On EITM!

Ben Kweller appeared in-studio just before 9am this morning...

His album, Changing Horses was a main topic this morning. It's a country album to say the least, but was one of the easiest records he has ever made. He used several songs he wrote as a teen and the name of the album was something he pondered on for years.

The video for "Fight" is currently running on CMT and Country Weekly Magazine gave the album four stars saying, "Ben's unforced way with a twang on Changing Horses proves he isn't kidding when he cites Garth Brooks and Alan Jackson as major influences."

Ben isn't worried about his new sound or how people will perceive it, but most importantly he doesn't want to be pigeonholed as an artist. "I'm just a Texas weirdo with a guitar," he said.

His next album is almost done. "It's different from any other album I've ever made - but it's not a reggae album," he said. He also talked about Kimmy the stalker, and his One Minute Pop Song episodes.

Roche & Whitney's Off-Air Podcast Fight!

If you haven't already heard it before, Roche and Whitney have an off-air podcast that is posted here every day. They discuss everything from current events to my personal favorite...Playboy bio readings.

Nevertheless, the two manage to stay entertaining and usually agree to disagree on various topics, however today was quite different...

During a colorful discussion about the Oscars, the conversation turned heated and personal. Whitney felt like Roche was attacking her and Roche felt that Whitney was being defensive for no reason.

It seems that they ruffled each others feathers so much so, that the off-air podcast has been cancelled for the remainder of the week.

Michaela The Chimp Was A Scam!

This morning when Angela never showed up with Michaela the chimpanzee we knew something was up!

I knew something didn't sound right when Elliot and the Class spoke with her yesterday. It wasn't until after the show that Elliot received an email saying that she would need $3,500 to bring Michaela in-studio!

And get this...Michaela isn't even in the area, she's in Missouri at a placed called the Missouri Chimpanzee Sanctuary...what the fuck?

Well, it's that time of the month again...no, not you Diane!

Friday marks one month since the mass Clear Channel layoffs on Inauguration Day. Thankfully, Elliot and the Class survived that round, but could there be more cuts coming?

Like last time, Flounder thinks he's getting it...no mention of Kyle, who a month ago also felt vulnerable.

It seems that Shock and Flounder could be the one's to get the boot this time, although John Ballard and Loo Katz are convinced that Elliot is gone on Friday...so much for Kegs & Eggs X!

"If we get fired tomorrow, then we get fired tomorrow," Elliot said.

We shall see what happens...

Mike Green & Elliot's 'So Kids Can'!

First there was 'Olie & Elliot’s Great Saves,' now introducing Mike Green and Elliot's 'So Kids Can' program...

Elliot and Washington Capitals defenseman Mike Green have teamed up with Pediatric Prosthetics, Inc. to create the 'So Kids Can' program, a fundraising initiative that will benefit a different youth-focused, nonprofit organization each year.

As I told you a few weeks ago, the Texas based Pediatric Prosthetics, Inc. is an organization that helps families with children who have either lost a limb or have congenital limb deficiency. Elliot and Mike recently met Brady who was just fitted for a prosthetic...



On Friday, March 6th, join Mike Green and Elliot at The Front Page in Arlington for Celebrity Bartending night from 7-10pm. Mike Green and friends, along with The Class will be behind the bar serving drinks. All money collected will be donated to 'So Kids Can'.

Her name is Michaela and she's only eight months old. Angela, her handler, says she has no teeth and she can't even walk yet. Safe right?

Diane Voted Most Bangable!

The pole was up last week through during the whole Whitney and Flounder sex for money thing...it never happened by the way!

Diane came in first with 60% of your votes. Elliot came in second place with 16%, Kyle and Tyler tied in third place with 11% and Flounder brought up the rear with a measly 3%. Go Flounder!

Comedian Demetri Martin will be on to talk about his new show Important Things with Demetri Martin on Comedy Central.

Elliot's Dog Scare!

Elliot's dog was neutered over the weekend, but complications left the ten-month old Great Dane in serious condition. The dog's abdomen filled up with three liters of blood and his organs began to shut down. "If this dog makes it a year, I'll be surprised," Elliot said.

Elliot had to cut short a trip to Boston, forking over $600 to move up his flight. Thankfully, Deuce is now stable and will be home soon.

You'll recall, Elliot's first dog Molson was put down in June 2007.

Meanwhile, Elliot In The Morning made headlines today with various news outlets running a story about the "bong exchange" via the website GossipGirls.com:

It seems the recent controversy caused by Michael Phelps' pot smoking picture has had quite an effect on the people in his community. In fact, Washington DC radio show Elliot in the Morning held a bong exchange outside his house this morning (February 5).

According to a report, the show had to stop people from bring their old bongs as police were waiting to arrest anyone with drug paraphernalia on them. Instead, the morning show gave away gift certificates in lieu of the smoking gear.
